Just a few people I saw walking the streets of Chicago.  My favorite areas are Michigan Avenue and the Ukrainian Village.  The bakery girl was photographed in Wisconsin the next day.

Wow, your pictures make me notice people in a new way! “The Rough Blonde” makes one stop and thing, “What must her life be like?”.

    • I don’t know what her life is like, but it doesn’t include too many baths.

Excuse me, I meant to say, the “Rough Looking Blond”.

  3. Humorous… simultaneously soliciting contributions while flipping the bird. I’m not sure what to do? :) Nice choices, Ron.

  4. Once again incredible photos, I have been accumulating street photos myself but have trouble taking them. People look at me funny lol

    • People will look at you all sorts of ways when shooting on the street.

      • I’m getting braver tho and less noticing of them lol

  7. Good series – I was going to note the seemly lack of tats up North, until I got to the “rough girl” shot.

  9. hi ron,
great shots. you have done it again, capturing the essence of us humans with your unique style.
one question, did your subjects not object for privacy reasons a.k.,a. paparazzi?

    September 14, 2013 at 12:52 am

    • Nobody said anything. In the US, there is no privacy in a public place. Paparazzi follow celebrities and often breach the peace to get their shot, I don’t do that.

      • Thanks for the clarifying, ron, no offence intended, hope non taken. have a good week end. Cheers.

  11. So many different types of women – no two will ever be the same! The bakery girl looks a little sad. I feel a little sorry for her, perhaps she’s wishing to be somewhere else!? :)

  14. Bon samedi,
Pour faire de tels portraits, tu demandes l’autorisation ? ou comment procèdes-tu ? Il s’agit surtout du droit à l’image. Merci pour ces superbes clichés. Et le N/B c’est excellent et donne très bien.

    • Unlike France, in the USA it is not necessary to get permission to photograph anyone in public, or to publish the photograph.
