Lovely Capri

Capri Hillside

Capri Hillside

Just a short ferry ride away sits Capri, playground of the rich and famous, while swarming with ordinary tourists like myself.  The views are fabulous and the people walking around, amazing.  Here is just a little bit of what I saw on the island. I did get to speak with the lady from Miami. She is a down to earth gal.

    • It is beautiful, but pricey. Many just take the ferry over there for the day like I did.

  19. Thanks for this post. It is VERY dreary here in central Illinois right now…rain has melted all the nice white snow and now we are seeing a bit of ice. So this post is a welcome sight and reminds me of our trip there in 2012. Stayed in Sorrento for a week and, like you, did a day trip to the island, only in our case we took a small boat from Sorrento around the whole island before spending the rest of the day on land. Beautiful scenery and people. You’ve inspired me to post some photos that I took to further shake off these pre-holiday blues!

    • Thank you for the story. It is raining so hard now that I am looking for a paddle.

  20. Pretty much as I remember it, Ron. Definitely the sky was that shade of blue :)
Sorry about your weather. Have a good Christmas, whatever!

  22. After reading about the debauchery and insanity that went on here with some of the Roman emperors, I’ve always wanted to check it out. Are there any palace ruins accessible there?

    December 21, 2013 at 8:58 pm

    • I don’t know, but the Capri is really worth a visit for what is there know. For ruins, Pompeii is not that far away.
