Staircase, Caxia Forum Building

Staircase, CaixaForum Building

Madrid is one of my favorite cities.  I love the Latin attitude and the general hustle of the place, not to mention that after Paris, it holds the greatest repository of classical western art in the world.  This visit was in May of 2011 when the Puerto del  Sol demonstrations were in full swing.  The demonstrations are covered in another post on this blog.

      • it’s even funnier when you look above the 2 eyeballs
& see what looks like a sketch of 2 women sitting,
from their waist down, with their backs to us.
the door looks hungry for them!

  9. If you return to Spain at some point, may I recommend Figueres. While I am in France, it is a great day trip for me and home of Dali! One of his museums is dedicated to the stunning jewelry he created and well worthy of a visit.

        • Just go to the Europe drop down in the header and click on Italy, it will be right there. Everything on the blog is linked by category from that menu.

  14. You’ve captured the essence of Madrid, undoubtedly. Fab photos. The Caixa Forum building is amazing both inside and out. The stairs are a sheer work of art and you replicate it faithfully.

  15. Thanks for sharing your eye for creativity and culture! I love Spain. I never made it to Madrid, but Malaga and the coastal cities down my the straight of Gibraltar are amazing. Lived close to them for a couple of years. Latin culture is my favorite. It’s hard to keep it out of your blood. Cheers!
