Syracuse and Agrigento, Sicily

Blue Boat

Blue Boat

Syracuse is a can’t miss destination in Sicily.  The hotels are reasonable, there is a beautiful harbor and an enchanting old section on the Ortygia peninsula.  Further inland is an archaeological park.  Agrigento is a bit out of the way on a tour of Sicily.  However, it is worth seeing for the valley of the temples which features fabulous ruins.

  3. Neat shots. Love the perspective in the plaza, and also the boat reflection – that one is super cool! ~SueBee

  4. What I miss (or maybe you did some shooting over there; but still in the pipeline) is the amazing cactus nursery with cactus garden just outside town. Its name is Vivai Cuba. And the collection is huge (including very, very big ones) ;)
If you did make pictures over there …. can you please publish them… (Thanks) ;)

    • The other place I really liked was Taormina. Check the Italy menu button in the header of my blog.

This series of photos really makes me want to visit! The boat photos are wonderful, and the shots of historical structures incredible! What can you tell me about that curve?

    • The curve is a snip of the landscape shot at close to 300mm on FX. It just looked interesting from the distance. Do you have dreams of going around that curve on a thundering hog?

        Wouldn’t that be great??
I finally sat on a bike the other day and it felt good. I have several procedures ahead of me and then I want to test ride. Getting closer …
