Thank you. I think Chicago has more people with tattoos than anywhere else.

Love the girl with the Chaplin tattoo. I love living in Chicago for EXACTLY the reason you photographed these folks. So many tattoos and creativity here. Thanks for sharing! Great photos.

No problem :) Very nice of you to say so!

Back in the mid 70’s I was the only one in my barracks who didn’t get drunk enough to stumble out into the Tokyo streets and get tattooed. Didn’t think it would become fashionable. Thanks for sharing ‘em.

Love tattoos, they are so expressive of their owners. When I see pics like these makes me want to get another one… Great shots.

some cool tattoos :)

These are awesome fella! Great work. I really admire people who get tattoos though I don’t want one myself. I like their courage that they will always feel a certain way about something, and their faces here capture that brilliantly!

There is quite a bit of wisdom in your comment, thank you.

nice! I have one tattoo. The tattoo i proudly sport is of a pair of fairy wings. It reminds me that I can fly. :)
June 8, 2013 at 11:53 am
Thank you. Try the Texas menu button in the header and scroll down to the second post to view some large and beautiful butterfly wings. If the wings are large enough, you can fly far.

These are great. I love the honesty in your work. So, what tats do you have? ;)

Rainey, I don’t have any tattoos on the outside. There are many images burnt into my brain.
June 8, 2013 at 3:11 pm
Haha, I know what you mean. I have many, many images burnt into my brain as well! I may consider a tat, but it would have to have a very special meaning for me. Meanwhile, I love seeing the choices made by others.

Gorgeous photos…I love the one with the girl dancing in the “friends” pic, so fun!

Thank you DAnna. That photo was the only one requiring a wide angle lens because the place was so crowded.

Nice portraits. Summer is here and this inspires me to get out and start looking for some great ink to photograph. Thanks for the inspiration.

Warm weather in Chicago certainly brings out the display of tattoos. What a varied group of individuals that you captured. Thanks for the visit and the like of my recent posts including “Same Flower Different Look”.

It is even warmer in Belize where I am now.

I think tattoos are simply beautiful – live – works of art moving with complicated intriguing stories yet to be told. Your photos give them voice.
