    • Thank you. I have been doing a lot of this lately. Just scroll back through the last 20 posts or so covering my trips to San Diego and the Baltic Cruise.

  4. Love the fountain photo’s. How did you take those? Is it 3 D?

    September 23, 2013 at 11:12 am

    • The two fountain shots are of the same fountain in Discovery Green, a downtown park. I used a telephoto lens. There are no unusual tricks, plugins, or exotic photoshop techniques.

      September 23, 2013 at 11:15 am

      • But it looks like it’s not a flat abstract… Or is it the lens?

        September 23, 2013 at 11:40 am

        • Telephoto lenses have a very shallow depth of field. Only items in a narrow band of distance are in focus, the rest is out of focus and in this case severely out of focus. There is also compression of space. The answer is the two fountain shots are of three dimensional space, but flattened by the lens.

  6. I love the colors in all of them, but the “Eye” is my favorite by far.

    September 23, 2013 at 11:33 am

    • The Eye is a close up of a large outdoor sculpture that is mostly constructed from aluminum.

      September 23, 2013 at 11:35 am

      • Ah, for some reason I was seeing an underwater structure… like perhaps a sunken submarine and that was a window on it, but that’s very cool.

        September 23, 2013 at 11:39 am

        • Yeah, it does have a porthole. I think the whole thing looked sort of like a crashed aircraft.

    September 23, 2013 at 2:28 pm

    • Puddle is a reflection. Thank you for stopping by Heather.

      September 23, 2013 at 2:31 pm

      • awesome…but, did you do anything with the colors?

        September 23, 2013 at 2:32 pm

        • The colors have been altered. I don’t want to say exactly how.

          September 23, 2013 at 2:34 pm

  18. By the time I scroll down to here, I am not looking at the piece I like the best: the largest one. the blue one with the pink, red and green at the bottom. Like tree branches. This one is the most successful, in my opinion. Also in my opinion, you should do more of these!!!!

    September 24, 2013 at 1:34 pm

Fountain 4-8-10 immediately made me think ‘soda fountain’ although I rarely drink blue soda…
