Hungry Fish

Hungry Fish

This series of abstract and semi abstract photographs was harvested from my archives.  None have been published before.  I have manipulated the colors in all. Hungry Fish won picture of the week at the highly competitive Nikongear forum.

Love what you did with the colors… very creative… in another universe I would give up all my other jobs and spend all my time in Photoshop!!! You have inspired me to look at some of my photos and give them a new life, even if they don’t come out looking as good as yours!

    • Thank you. This was done entirely without pixel level editing or plug-ins. It could have been done in Lightroom, for example.

  2. Are these catfish? were they black before you changed the colour?

    October 6, 2013 at 11:29 am

    • These are not catfish, I don’t know what they are. Catfish are larger, have wide mouths and are even uglier than these fish. The original color was a murky yellowish green for everything, like swamp water.

  4. These pics are like a tempting dessert with their brightness on a dull autumn day.

    • Thank you. The weather is pretty dull here with the first real cold front of the fall in normally hot Houston.

      • Working on a car or takin some photos like you do both have a special set of skills. I just wished some of my photos were as good as yours. Thanks for the comment too. :-)

  16. Thank you for liking “Haunting Skyscapes.” I like “Hungry Fish” too. The colors make the mouths of the fish pop out toward you when you look at the photo. I also like how the bubbles look like marbles. Well done! :)

  22. They do look like they want to eat something or someone. I do hope you fed the hungry fish after taking their photo.

    October 22, 2013 at 6:37 pm

    • They were being fed before, during and after.
