Cute Lobster Hunter

Cute Lobster Hunter

Lonely Road 1 & 2 were taken on Norman Cay, an island with a population of about 25.  There is a bar on Norman Cay that is said to be one of Jimmy Buffett’s favorites.  It is located across the airstrip at the end of Lonely Road.  The Castle is in that area as well.  Cute Lobster Hunter bagged that bug while holding her breath.  All of these were shot with a D700 and Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 zoom.

    • Once speared, a lobster is helpless and these don’t have claws.

      • I didn’t think about that really. It was the awesome “alien” that I was thinking of. No offence intended btw.

        • I’ve never eaten lobster – I don’t know if that’s a good thing or a bad!?

        • Time to try one. The one pictured is a spiny lobster. It has no claws. That is what you get when a lobster tail is served. The better tasting ones come from cold water like Maine and have claws.

  8. Thank you for liking “Night Photography.” I enjoyed looking at the sunset photos in this gallery, and “Cute Lobster Hunter” also captured my interest. I am not sure about eating Maine lobsters right now. Have you seen Lola the six-clawed lobster? She is a Maine lobster that a lobsterman recently donated to the Maine State Aquarium. If not, here is a link: http://abcnews.go.com/Technology/lobster-finger-claws-display-maine-aquarium/story?id=20224397. I look forward to seeing more of your work. 🙂

    • A six claw lobster sounds like a six wheel drive car to me. Thank you for commenting.

    • WordPress keeps changing things. You can check the reader. There is a section for sites you follow. I do that instead of getting emails. I follow too many sites to deal with that many emails.

  11. I had a lobster that size once, a wonderful memory, but a little tough when they get that large.

    • I once was with a dive guide from Belize who picked up a big one in his hand on a night dive. The damn thing gave a strong kick of its tail and instantly was 10 feet away.
