Anime Matsuri

This weekend Houston was home to Anime Matsuri, a cosplay convention.  As you can see, most of the participants were women.  Not these, but many were not old enough to drive.  This group of costumes were in the heroic female mercenary category.  I will have Lolitas  tomorrow.

If anyone viewing this knows the names of the characters, please leave a comment so I may update the captions.

  2. wow…who knew Houston had so much “stuff” going on…Houston was always a city to get around as quickly as possible to get to I-10…and yet I think Don would have gotten a kick out of these young women 🙂 great shots…don’t have a clue who they’re representing 😀 😀 😀

Never ceases to amaze me the things people are in to… mostly I’m just jealous of anybody being able to wear those costumes!

    • This group of costumes was for the thin ones, but Lolita works on more body types.

        • You can use the photo with credit. It is a popular shot. Make sure you state “used with the permission of the photographer.” I routinely grant permission on stuff like this when the user isn’t making money on it. Send me the link when you are done. Tell your friends to visit me.

        • A few photos have inspired poems, other paintings. One an artist printed and went over it with encaustic wax. She sent me a print, form Holland, no less.

spirals of inspiration. it is still pretty cool for me, how the internet can reach around the world. I’m sitting in the kitchen in rural Ireland burgers on the grill about to pop open a few Sam Adams Boston lagers….
