The weekend has been difficult.  It’s another two days with no progress.  Air conditioning is running at 70F/21C to dry out the place.  There are three dehumidifiers running as well.  Last night was the first time I went out in the evening since returning from Amsterdam.  I must have PTSD.

  3. Along with “restaurant hostess”, I am starting to like the subtle parts of “study in beige and blue”.

  5. you should probably get out of the house more often! Isn’t there anything going on around town (preferably in an air conditioned space)?

      • I never like to drive if I’m going out for fun, but down here there really is no other choice.😦

        • I like to drive for fun sometimes, I used to just drive around the back roads just to see where they went. I never have time for that kind of thing anymore. Now I stress out when I drive anywhere, always worried about the cops!

        • Radar is everywhere. For speed traps, Texas is the worst.

        • Texas is pretty bad. Thank goodness for those apps where people report where the cops are hanging out!

        • I don’t have to worry about speed traps because I haven’t driven much lately.

        • I’m usually pretty paranoid when I drive anywhere now. (it sucks having to be that way!)

        • There are too many speed traps in Texas. 288 is heavily patrolled.

        • For SURE! I drive 288 all the time, they got me for $104 years ago for not wearing my seatbelt (AFTER they LIED through their teeth to PROMISE they would NEVER pull anyone over just for that, and they would NEVER give anyone a ticket for that- only a warning- and it would ONLY be for your benefit). Yeah, for sure, we have way too many cops out there doing nothing but harrassing people for more money!

hope you can find some respite and support. nothing for nothing but these things can have an effect on a person which tend to be underestimated. I know you only form blog world but feel a deep empathy for you. flood and heat would be a particular hell for me.
